How do we begin working together?
Some clients have ideas, sketches, or swatches of antique textiles as a starting point and some have fully designed software files; some clients are geared towards minimums and some are interested in volume. Maharaja Me can work with a range of design styles, capabilities and scale. Start by contacting us and sharing what you hope to do.
Maharaja Me brings expertise, a treasure trove of archival fabric references, and relationships with suppliers going back decades. Our suppliers represent India’s regional specializations and source from very small family-run cottage industries to mid-size enterprises. We choose to supply natural fibers: cotton, organic cotton, linen, silk and wool in khadi or other handloom, powerloom and autoloom weave options. We also choose to work with textile-centric suppliers and cooperatives who are steeped in tradition while looking towards contemporary business practices such as non-profit structures, democratic cooperatives, autonomous small businesses (along the supply chain), family businesses and larger businesses.
